Have you ever wondered why some people manage to accomplish the things you’ve been dreaming of doing? I’ve been there too, and here’s what I’ve learned: Something is better than nothing.
I recently had a car repair that came with a rebate offer. It made me think – instead of filling out forms to get money back, wouldn’t it be easier to just give a discount upfront? Companies know many of us won’t take that extra step, even when money is involved. We often procrastinate, whether it’s sending in a rebate form or making bigger life decisions.
Procrastination can be expensive. For example, delaying a professional certification might mean missing out on job opportunities. We get so used to putting things off that we sometimes feel it’s too late to start making changes.
I’ve heard someone say, “I’m 50 years old. I don’t have a future to shape.” But I know if you’re reading this, you’re not content with just letting life pass you by. You want change, but like many of us, you might be stuck in inaction.
We read advice and feel inspired but struggle to take the first step. However, remember, time doesn’t stop. A year from now, you’ll be a year older. The question is, will you be closer to where you want to be?
So, let’s try something. Think about something you’ve been putting off. Now, choose one small step towards it and take that step. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just a step forward.
If doubts and objections pop up, that’s okay. It’s natural. Acknowledge them but proceed with that one small step. You can do this.
Taking action, even a small one, can start a journey towards the life you want to live. There’s no perfect time to start – just the decision to begin. Your future is waiting, and every small step counts.
