Training that sticks past Friday
Most leadership training leaves people with frameworks they forget by the end of the week. Amy’s sessions are different because she starts where the real problem lives — in the gap between what leaders intend and what their teams actually experience.
Her work draws on two decades of culture-change facilitation, MCC-level executive coaching, and direct experience as a manager navigating the same high-stakes situations her audiences face.
The result is a room where people feel safe enough to be honest — and challenged enough to actually change.

“She brings a rare mix of kindness, intelligence, and insight that makes people feel both safe and challenged. Whether in a team-building setting or working with senior leaders, Amy is an asset to any group aiming for real impact.”
Two signature sessions, built for the real challenges leaders face

Hold the Line
Every leader has conversations they dread — performance issues, boundary violations, team conflict, resistance to change. Most handle them one of two ways: they avoid the conversation entirely, or they have it in a way that produces compliance but kills trust.
This session introduces the VCN Framework — a structured, field-tested protocol for navigating high-stakes conversations in a way that restores accountability without damaging the relationship.
- Practice the VCN framework using a real scenario from their own work
- Distinguish between conversations that restore autonomy and those that produce compliance-only behavior
- Adapt the protocol for both managing up and managing down
- Identify where VCN can be integrated into existing programs immediately

Leading Change with Empathy & Accountability
Change initiatives fail not because the plan was wrong, but because leaders underestimate the human response to disruption. This session gives leaders a practical framework for holding both the human side and the operational side of change — at the same time, without sacrificing either.
- Recognize common emotional and behavioral responses to change
- Apply empathy skills without losing focus on organizational goals
- Use accountability frameworks to address resistance during transition
- Practice conversations using real-life change scenarios
- Identify actionable next steps for their own leadership style

“Before Amy worked with our leadership, I felt under constant fire. After the sessions, the team started leaning into one another in new ways. Several people stepped up — taking charge of situations more than they ever had before. It feels like a fresh canvas — freeing, creative, and innovative.”
“Amy was an invaluable resource as we embarked on our culture transformation. She is skilled at reading the underlying dynamics of a group — evoking participation and creativity while maintaining objectivity.”
“I participated as an emerging leader and was blown away by the usefulness of systems thinking. I regularly use what I learned about relationship dynamics in my consulting work with various organizations.”

She’s been in the room you’re trying to fix.
Amy Kay Watson, MCC, is the founder of Reboot Leadership LLC, a Columbus-based consulting practice specializing in leadership development for mid-market organizations. She has spent her career on both sides of the leadership development equation — as a manager navigating high-stakes conversations herself, and as a coach and culture-change facilitator helping others do the same.
She holds the Master Certified Coach credential from the International Coaching Federation — the field’s highest designation, held by fewer than 4% of credentialed coaches worldwide — and has facilitated more than 200 culture and change retreats across healthcare, finance, technology, and the sciences.
Her four-year engagement doing enterprise-wide culture work at Hertz Global Holdings, and similar work at The Ohio State University, gives her a depth of organizational experience that informs every session she leads.
Amy speaks from the inside of the leadership experience, not from the outside looking in.
“Amy is a skilled, passionate facilitator. Her dedication to carrying her teaching outside the room leads to a rich experience — before, during, and after the event. She is very adept at flexing her style to accommodate the needs of the situation without missing a beat.”
“I have never been a fan of group leadership training sessions, but Amy did an outstanding job of setting up meaningful dialogue. I can use the takeaways in my leadership positions at work, at volunteer activities, and even at home.”
“I really enjoyed the collaboration, and I feel like we’re in a safe place to be vulnerable and our authentic selves. I also love Amy’s style and tone — she’s an awesome facilitator.”
